Clinic Information
Medication During the School Day
If your child must take medication during the school day:
Parent must fill out an Administration of Medication Form giving the school permission and directions for administering the medication.
The medication must be sent to the school in the original container.
If your child needs to have their rescue inhaler with them at all times, the parent needs to complete the Inhaler Permission Form to be kept on file in the clinic. For more details on policies regarding the clinic, please see the Student Handbook.
Immunization Policy
Saint Joseph Catholic School follows the immunization policy as laid out by the Diocese of Orlando. Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Orlando do not recognize a religious objection to immunizations. That policy is defined on the diocese website.
The School Clinic is staffed by a health volunteer who are trained and certified in first aid and CPR procedures. The health tech will care for students in the event of minor illness or injury.
Parents will always be called when their child has been admitted to the Clinic with a head injury. Minor scrapes will be cared for with ice, bandage and TLC; no call will be made unless otherwise instructed.
